Fender Bender

Janie cringed and jumped at the sound of the crash. She looked back to see some guy had bumped into her bumper. She got out of the car grabbing her bag and jacket. She went up to his window and knocked on the window. The guy was wearing sunglasses and didn't pay any attention. He already backed away from her car and was grabbing his thermal mug. He looked up at her and opened the door. "You do realized you just bumped into my bumper, right?" "So?" he replied nonchalantly. Janie couldn't believe her ears. She snapped a picture of the scratch. Once she looked back to the guy he was already gone. "What the fuck? I need his i.d.!" She recorded his license plate and ran into the building. "That jackass made me even more late." Janie cursed under her breath in the elevator.

She ran to her cubicle to drop off her stuff and grabbed the portfolio for the meeting. She ran to the conference room and slowly opened the door. The door was in the back of the room and in the front was where the guy was standing. He was shaking hands with Mark. Mark was introducing the new CEO to the group. Janie slid right next to Morgan.

"Why are you so late, Janie? That's the new CEO. He's the old CEO's son."
"Ah, born in a wealthy family and the company is handed down to him. Dick."
"Dick? He's hot. His blue eyes and muscular body."
"Give me a break. He bumped into my car and pretended like nothing happened."
"What? He rammed into your car?" "Yeah. He's late here so he probably rushed." "Oh my god, he's just like any of us. Making the same mistakes. He's not so high and mighty. I could totally relate to him."
"Am I really hearing this right now? He scratched my car!"
"It's just a fender bender, Janie." Morgan rolled her eyes and then went back to ogling the new CEO.

"Hi everyone, as you may know my name is Logan. Please help me feel acquainted to the company and I will help you too." Logan looked directly at Janie with a smirk on his face.

Janie gave him the death stare. "You're in luck. I will definitely make you feel acquainted to this place. You're a big guy with lots of money and still treat me like trash? You'll be getting a piece of me." she angrily ranted in her head. The meeting was adjourned after some people showed Logan the progress in the IT department. Everyone plowed out of the room after grabbing the remaining donuts and pastries. Janie was last at the table and grabbed all the scraps.

"Janie, let's go! Stop eating so much sugar. You had a donut yesterday!" Morgan rushed her.
"Go on without me." Janie was stuffing her face.
"You better lay off on that sugar. You don't want to get any bigger than you already are."
Janie smacked who she thought was Mark on the arm. "You know me."
"I don't."
Janie looked up to see it was Logan standing there with his arms crossed.
"You do realize you just smacked your boss's boss."
"You do realize you just rammed into my car."
"Touche. But I am pretty crucial for your standing in employment."
"What are you gonna do about the damage on my car?"
"You're gonna be that stingy?"
"You have money so you can solve anything. I don't."
"Fine. You want money? Here." He handed her $100. "That should at least solve some of the problem."
"Well, no thanks. I want to do it in an orderly way. File a report and call the insurance. Yada yada yada. Or at least an apology."
"An apology? You should've told me sooner. You're helping me save money. Well, sorry about that. As you can see I was late and you were as well. And that should be penalized."
"Excuse me?"
"I am still your boss. And you came late. I, on the other hand, am okay for coming late."
"Yeah, that apology doesn't sound so sincere. And you admit not knowing me but you told me to lay off the sugar. I don;t think that's proper etiquette with a lady or anyone for that matter. I'll be going back to work now because this conversation is dragging. You still owe me an apology."
Janie left the room and stormed straight to her desk.

"What's wrong?" Eddie asked.
"Nothing."
"You came late."
"Don't even start."
"Okay."

Janie angrily worked and Mark came by. "The boss tells me you have a warning for coming late. This isn't you. You never come late and you come late on the wrong day."
"I don't have an explanation for you, Mark. Thanks for the warning." Janie said sarcastically.
"Alright, Miss. I won't dwell on it." Mark patted Janie's head and walked back into his office.
